Tim Murphy

Tim Murphy is the Founder and Chairman of IP Global with over 20 years experience in building profitable property investment portfolios.

Prior to establishing IP Global, Tim spent 13 years in the Insurance and Banking industries based in London, Korea and Hong Kong which gave him an extensive understanding of wealth management. Tim's career began in London, with Prudential, and within 12 years was managing a sales force of 12,000 people across 800 branches. He was also part of the founding team of the Prudential backed, internet banking success, Egg.

In Asia, Tim's most recent position was that of CEO for Dah Sing Life Assurance in Hong Kong. Academic achievements include an MBA from City University, London and a sports degree from Southampton University.

Tim's interest in property began when at the age of 21, he purchased his first property, 149 Maplehurst Road which achieved a 174% return on investment at point of sale. Before turning 23, Tim owned 3 properties and by the age of 30, had developed a portfolio of over 40properties. Today Tim owns a property portfolio spanning fifteen countries, including Australia, Brazil, Eastern Europe, Japan, Spain, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.

Tim is committed to expanding and diversifying his personal property portfolio by investing alongside clients in every project IP Global launches. Tim has lived in the Asia-Pacific region for over ten years and has built the IP Global business model on the focus, drive and "can do" attitude of Asian culture, creating a business that can be developed quickly and aggressively in the market whilst searching for prime investment opportunities.

Tim is the author of "Turning Crisis into Profit: How to Make Money in Asian Property", with 1,000 copies sold in the first 5 days and over 3,800 copies sold since publication in November 2009. Tim has extensive media experience having appeared on networks such as CNBC, Bloomberg and BBC and is perceived as the 'go-to expert' for property in the APAC region.

Tim is setting his sights on other ventures with the recently launched Buying Asia property investment series which is broadcast to over 24 market in Asia every Wednesday at 7:30pm (HKT, SGT, MYT) only on Channel News Asia.
