Japan

Synopsis

As Japan continues to struggle economically, IP Global CEO and "Buying Asia" host Tim Murphy manages to see some light at the end of their dark tunnel in this episode of the series. Via a series of interviews and site visits with real estate developers and economists, Murphy learns that there are some good opportunities to be found in Tokyo. And, when it comes to architecture, he finds out that there are some forward thinking architects who are definitely building with their ear firmly to the ground.

But the real eye opening story is emerging outside Tokyo, in the ski bound areas of places like Hakuba and Niseko. There, Murphy finds out that spacious property can be found at a terrific price in towns that could be emerging as the face of Japan's future. In this diverse show, Murphy manages to find some of the best real estate stories in the country, while exposing viewers to Tokyo's famed fish markets and getting in a bit of skiing to boot.
